For Hindus, Buddhists, Jains, and Bon followers, the Yatra holds immense spiritual significance. The Yatra offers an opportunity to immerse in divine energy and experience the serenity of nature, coupled with devotion.

Journey from Ahmedabad: The Kailash Mansarovar Yatra from Ahmedabad begins with a flight to Kathmandu, Nepal, where pilgrims gather for orientation and medical checks. The journey is strenuous and requires good health, as it involves high altitudes, rough terrains, and the need for physical endurance.

From Kathmandu, the journey continues with a flight to Lhasa, Tibet, and a drive to the sacred site. The trip usually involves a mix of road travel and trekking. Pilgrims visit several important landmarks along the way, such as the Yamdrok Lake, the Potala Palace, and the Jokhang Temple, while also acclimatizing to the high altitudes to prevent altitude sickness.

Kailash Parikrama: The highlight of the Yatra is the Kailash Parikrama (circumambulation) around Mount Kailash, which is considered a journey of purification. The trek is around 52 kilometers and typically takes three days to complete. Devotees walk this sacred circuit, enduring challenging conditions, including freezing temperatures and difficult paths, with the belief that completing the Parikrama leads to the eradication of accumulated sins and the granting of blessings from Lord Shiva.
